
Shoe Science Web Site
Shoe Science are one of the leading specialist shoe stores in Auckland. They are known for their excellent service and they wanted a web site to match to help existing and new customers get in to the right pair of shoes.
Having originally built a non-responsive site for Shoe Science around 5 years ago, in early 2017 they decided to have a design refresh to modernise the site, improve the IA and layout and offer more features.
During a workshop with Shoe Science owner, Craig Taylor, we were able to define a number of areas for improvement and document some key goals for the new site.
Responsive
The site must work well on all sizes of device from mobiles to desktop screens. This is a "must-have" now and the new Shoe Science site is no exception.

Store Locations
The web site is there to compliment the bricks and mortar stores, not replace them so it was important store location and details was a primary call to action on the home page.
To achieve this we added a Google Maps feature on which allows customer to quickly and easily click through the 5 stores to see their address, phone number and a map of their location with the store name clicking through to the full details for that store.
Blue Sun Digital have built a client database for us and a website. All their work is of the highest standard. In fact I have been blown away with the accuracy, professionalism and standard of work.

Showcase Products
Previously there were no products on the site and Craig wanted to add examples of most if not all of the shoes they offer in store.
The site now has landing pages for many of the key brands that Shoe Science offers which show the shoes available in stores along with supporting content like technical information and videos.

Ambassador Rewards Loyalty Integration
Craig wanted a way of integrating with Shoe Science's loyalty scheme to draw people into becoming rewards members.
The loyalty scheme is an important part of the service at Shoe Science and the web site now allows you to join online which adds the customer to their database in-store and rewards them with a free introductory product.
Improved social media interaction
All pages on the site can now be shared and each store landing page highlights the social media accounts like Twitter and Facebook for that specific store.
Shoe Science now has a modern site that works across all devices and allows customers to easily find store information, join their loyalty scheme, learn about the brands and products they sell and share content on social media.
